Dear CPAP/BIPAP Customer,
Your device has been preset by our clinician according to your healthcare practitioner’s prescription and ready for use. It will not require any initial adjustment on your part. There is an instructional video above for complete instructions. It is very important you watch the full video before using your new device. Please call if you have any questions after completing the video.
Your Daily Routine:
When you are ready to go to sleep:
- Water In (Using distilled water only, fill water chamber to Max line-DO NOT OVERFILL)
- Mask On (Put your mask on and adjust for optimum therapy)
- Turn On (Turn on your device and wear it as long as you can each night*)
In the morning after you wake:
- Turn Off (Turn your device off - NOTE: Turn off device any time you are away from it)
- Mask Off (Take your mask off)
- Drain Out any water left in chamber and perform your recommended daily cleaning
Recommended daily cleaning:
Using mild soap and warm, drinking quality water, clean your mask cushion (the part that touches your face), your tubing, and water chamber.
*For nasal dryness, we recommend Ayr Saline Nasal Gel or Spray that can be purchased without a prescription at Walmart or a local pharmacy
Recommended Weekly Cleaning:
Using warm, drinking quality water and mild soap, soak your mask, tubing and water chamber for 30-60 mins. Rinse to remove all soap. When they are dry, replace them on your device for your next session of therapy. You may soak your water chamber only in a solution of 1-to-1 white vinegar and water for 15-20 mins. The water chamber should always be clean, clear and free of discoloration.
To dry your supplies place them on a flat surface, on top of a towel. Avoid placing in direct sunlight.
Recommended Monthly Routine:
Check and replace your disposable filter if necessary and wipe CPAP with damp cloth.
Supply Replenishment:
It is very important to replace your supplies regularly to ensure optimal therapy, proper operation of your device, and sanitary conditions. Your eligibility schedule for most insurances is as follows:
Monthly: 2 disposable filters and mask cushion/pillows (the part that touches your face during therapy)
Every 3 months: mask (frame) and tubing
Every 6 months: headgear (strap that attaches mask to your face) and water chamber
Please be aware all of the supplies for your CPAP require a prescription from your healthcare practitioner to dispense. It is valid for 12 months then must be renewed prior to being able to receive new supplies. This requires you to see your healthcare practitioner.
*Important Note: Most insurances require you wear your CPAP a minimum of 4 hours per day at least 70% of the days during a consecutive 30-day period (at least 21 out of 30 days) during your initial months of usage. If you do not meet your insurance plan’s compliance schedule, they will stop payment, forcing you to have to pay the remainder of your rental your equipment and any future supplies or simply return your CPAP.
We strongly encourage you to take advantage of the free, personal, and online support program from Resmed called myAir or download the free myAir app (Instructions how to sign up are included in your bag).
